On November 14, 2024, Mercy Help Foundation launched its Sports for Inclusive Education and Climate Action initiative in Aboh, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Delta State. The event combined sports with discussions on inclusive education and climate change, aiming to empower youth and raise awareness in the community.
The initiative focused on ensuring equal access to education for all children, especially marginalized groups, and highlighted the importance of climate resilience. Sports events and workshops encouraged participants to reflect on climate change, its local effects, and how they could lead efforts for environmental sustainability.
By involving youth in these activities, the foundation aimed to foster leadership skills and inspire advocacy for both inclusive education and climate action. This event marked an important step toward building a sustainable and inclusive future, aligning local solutions with global efforts at COP29.
Mercy Help Foundation plans to continue its work, expanding the initiative to other communities in Nigeria and empowering young people to be active leaders in shaping positive change.
