On December 1st, 2024, the Mercy Help Foundation hosted A Night of Celebration: Resilience and Hope at the Mountain Hotel to mark World AIDS Day 2024. The event brought together 300 participants, including 23 Civil Society Organizations, 2 Universities, and 50 individuals living with HIV.
The evening began with a poignant Candle Light Ceremony, honoring those lost to HIV, followed by a moving performance from the UB Choir and a powerful poem by Pen Boy. This set the tone for a night of reflection, unity, and celebration.
A key highlight was the Panel Discussion, where a Lawyer, Medical Doctor, and 4 individuals living with HIV shared candid stories of overcoming challenges while thriving in life. Their stories of resilience and hope deeply inspired the audience, emphasizing that despite the odds, success and happiness are possible.
The event also featured Live Music, Comedy, Poetry, Art Exhibitions, and a Taste of Fashion, all celebrating the strength and creativity of the HIV community.
A Night of Celebration: Resilience and Hope was a powerful reminder of the importance of breaking the stigma surrounding HIV and the ongoing need for support, unity, and awareness.
